Some Christian Matters

Be familiar with the Bible first before reading other materials written by any Christian. You should not say that you cannot understand the Bible and you need somebody else's explanation. Do you think God expect you to understand everything in the Bible? Do not let the urge of understanding the Bible be the stumbling block for you to read His word. Reading His word itself is already a blessing. God used only word to create this world. The only book you can use along with the Bible is a dictionary. If you write down the meaning beside the unfamiliar word, you do not even have to use the dictionary anymore next time.

No denomination that men have created knows all the truth. When you think that you know better than others and try to create a new denomination, you are living in your own world of fantasy. You have to attach with one denomination anyway (of course not cultic one). If you realize the errors of the denomination where you are in now, just bear with the errors and do not follow the rest to practice the errors yourself. The most you can do is to write a book about what you understand and declare in the last page that it must NOT be used to create more division. Creating one more denomination will bring further division to the body of Christ. The only way to destroy the division is to have all the existing denominations combined in one. But how? The division caused by existing denominations still seems to be irreversible.

You can invite Christian from other denomination to the meeting you usually attend but do not try to drag him or her to your denomination. Put your energy on getting the unbelievers saved instead.

To expose a cult is by using the Word of God with simple common sense (untwisted). Do not attack any denomination with mere argument without support from the Word of God as this does not only waste people's time, but also brings further division. For example we should not say, "ABC123 church does not like bad public relations". Everybody does not like bad public relations of course. And why their public relations become bad in the first place? It is because ABC123 church naturally puts up the defense against some blame that is not supported by the Word of God.

When somebody says that something is orthodox or unorthodox, theologically correct or incorrect, do not buy that 100%. We rather want to know whether it is biblically correct or incorrect by referring to the Bible.

Although God have given us some guidelines on what we should not eat, God will not be angry, let alone 'decrease your credit', if we eat unclean food. In other word, you are not a bad guy if you eat unclean food. The only benefit of following the guidelines is we will have less physical illness. Do not call other brothers to avoid unclean food, as that is not the important point as compared to salvation (see Col. 2:16). Only tell the brothers that you yourself avoid unclean food. When the brothers ask why, tell them the ill-causing effect of the unclean food such as pork. Tell them too if you personally do not like the taste. Only when they understand the ill-causing effect, then proceed with asking them whether they know about Leviticus 11 and let them read it themselves. Of course law was nullified when Christ was crucified, but we can still personally follow a few laws that can give physical effect. The most popular one of such laws is unclean food. Similarly God have allowed you to eat meat (Gen. 9:3) but if you choose to be vegetarian, that should be just personal preference and do not try to influence others to follow you. And you have to walk closely with God. Note that now there is no longer vitamin B12 in vegetables because it has been eliminated by modern agricultural practice. We can guess that the farming technique before The Great Flood was healthier.

When we encourage somebody to read the Bible, we have got to ensure he or she reads the "correct" Bible. There are some so-called Bibles that have some obvious deviations. These Bibles are automatically rejected by all non-cultic denominations.

If somebody tells you that he or she sees vision from God that you should/must do this and that, you have got to see if he or she has just banged the head on the wall or something.

Do you think you can bribe God for salvation with your good deeds? And how many good deeds should be done to purchase the salvation? The salvation is free anyway. Why do you want to make it difficult? The sequence should be "salvation - natural good deed" instead of "deliberate good deed - salvation". After salvation, God desires us to build His character (His character is blameless). But that does not mean we have to deliberately go out to scout for some good deeds to do. In fact we just need to avoid doing the wrong things (things that do not express God's character) while we live on our usual daily life.

As long as you think of God, it does not matter how you talk to God. The problem is many of us do not even think of God at all although we do not do something really bad (see Gen. 6).

Not only the date is unknown and people know a friendly fat old folk in red suit more than Christ, Christ did not say that we should remember His birth. The world can give you strong reason to remember it: no birth, no Christ. Anyway Christ wants us to remember His resurrection but even that should not be confined to just one day of the year. Even if you realize this, you should not argue with the brothers who do the celebration as that may create division. If you were asked to join the festival event, you can still join them as long as you do not organize the event yourself.

Some proofs that the Lord exists:
-When you are alone and you talk to Him (even though you scold Him), you will feel that He exists.
-People who once hunted for heads are not doing so anymore after accepting Christ.
-High rehabilitation rate at gospel drug addict rehab center.
-Many big bad guys have repented.
-People commonly agree that Christians do not do big bad thing.

The Lord wants us to go to the meeting because He wants us to interact with brothers and sisters. Of course in the meeting you should talk more about the Lord, not gossip etc. Even just say hi and walk away is better than nothing at all or else it kind of defeats the purpose of going to meeting. Do not either just learn to interact with God or just learn to interact with people. These two aspects must be parallel.
